Optimism around Vinicius Jr return date following medical examination
Vinicius Junior underwent a medical examination yesterday to check the progress of his injury.
The results were good and there is optimism at the club that he will be able to shorten the initial predicted return date; around six weeks according to the club and around four weeks according to the player’s entourage.
However, and although there is no set a concrete date for returning, his presence in the derby on September 24 at the Civitas Metropolitano is not the most likely option.
Vinicius suffered an injury to his right biceps femoris muscle in the La Liga match against Celta Vigo on 25 August. The striker was substituted in the first half at Balaídos and, following medical examinations, cannot play for Brazil in this international break.
