Monstera adansonii

  • Botanical Name: Monstera Adansonii
  • Soil pH: 5.5 to 7.0
  • Soil Type: Well-draining soil
  • Sun Exposure: Tolerates low light but performs best in medium-to-bright light.

Monstera is also called the “split-leaf philodendron” since its glossy, large, heart-shaped leaves have a characteristic split like the holes in the cheese. This plant can grow up to 78 inches high, and if you give it space to climb, it will take over any space, giving off trendy jungle vibes. These cool houseplants like temperatures between 64 and 80°F (18 and 27°C), but they can survive in temperatures as low as 53°F (12°C). Also, it does best in warm, humid weather with some shade. It needs a deep pot with soil that drains well when kept indoors.

Aloe Vera

It does best in a shady spot with indirect light, is often highly drought-tolerant, is hard to wither, and doesn’t mind being rootbound, so you don’t have to move it often. One bonus is that these cool indoor plants also have air purifying capabilities, removing harmful compounds such as benzene, toluene, and ethylbenzene. Their dark, thin leaves with clear, undulating edges look beautiful when placed alone on a side table or coffee table.
