There was a video showing the bodyguard of NBA star Victor Wembanyama slapping Britney Spears in the face, causing a stir in public opinion.
Recently, a video has been released showing what happened when Britney Spears was slapped by a member of the security team of NBA star Victor Wembanyama in Las Vegas. Video shared by TMZ shows singer Britney Spears in a green shirt and white boots approaching Wembanyama from behind and patting him on the back. A bodyguard then shoved her hand away, accidentally slapping Spears in the face.
This video shows that Spears’ claim that she only patted Wembanyama on the back to get the young basketball star’s attention is true. However, it’s unclear from the footage whether the guard’s hand actually touched Spears’ face.
According to a police report, security cameras showed Spears’ hand hitting her in the face after the guard swatted her hand away. The fact that the bodyguard pushed the female singer’s hand off the shoulder of Victor Wembanyama was also agreed by the police and security teams of both sides as a natural reaction.
Security on both sides later apologized to each other after the incident. Britney Spears wanted to congratulate Wembanyama, while the star claimed to have been “grabbed” by someone from behind. Wembanyama said he was completely unaware of Britney’s presence until she posted on social networks.
TMZ footage shows the difference in height between Spears and Wembanyama, making it difficult for her to reach his shoulder. “His bodyguard punched me in the face in front of the crowd and I staggered,” Spears said.
As an A-list star, Spears is often surrounded. The singer said that once, up to 20 fans followed her, but her bodyguard never punched anyone. Spears added: “I don’t find this funny. Watching the video of him smirking is really heartless. While he is 2.2m tall, I am only 1.6m”.
Although Spears has filed a police report, according to sources, Las Vegas police will not bring any charges.
