This included a meticulously balanced rotating assembly, Edelbrock aluminum heads (measuring 2.11” intake and 1.77” exhaust), a robust Comp solid-lifter cam boasting a lift of .564/.571 and a duration of 260/264, lightweight 1.6:1 aluminum roller rockers, a capacious 7-quart oil pan, and ceramic-coated 1-7/8“ tube headers crafted by Doug’s.
Amplifying its aspiration, a single-plane high-rise aluminum intake supports a Holley Demon double pumper, orchestrating a harmonious dance of power and precision. The ignition system, courtesy of MSD, orchestrates the fiery combustion, while the temperature is adeptly managed by a BeCool aluminum radiator. As this fierce GTO propels forward, it channels its vigor through a Pontiac 4-speed manual transmission, seamlessly navigated by a Hurst Competition Plus shifter, and grounded by a positraction differential.
The suspension intricately weaves together coil springs with a robust HD sway bar in the front and a similar setup in the rear, augmented by a classic ‘ladder bar’ traction kit. Empowered by power-assisted steering and 4-wheel drum brakes, this Pontiac icon elegantly rides on period-correct Pacer 5-spoke chrome wheels, elegantly fitted with 15” Firehawk performance radials.
